Security Features
Silo has several features to ensure your experience is secure. These include:
- Maximum session time: Silo users will be automatically logged out every 16 hours.
- Cached user name: If a user's session is automatically logged out, their user email will be cached in the browser. This means they will only need to enter their password to regain access to Silo.
- Session expiry reminder: If a user's session is within 30 minutes of expiring, Silo shows a notification and prompts the user to re-enter their password to keep the session active. This makes it easier for the user to re-authenticate when it is convenient for them, instead of potentially getting logged out in the middle of a time-intensive activity.
- Password attempt lockout: Silo users will be given 7 attempts to enter their password correctly. If they fail to enter a correct password 7 times, they will be locked out for 10 minutes before they can try again.
