How to Update Your Computer Settings

Keeping your computer updated and regularly clearing your browser cache helps ensure that Silo runs smoothly. To update the security features on your computer, make sure to always install the latest updates.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Does the computer have a strong password? If not, take the steps shown here.
  2. Is Windows Firewall enabled? If not, take the steps shown here.
  3. Is Remote Access enabled? If you are unsure, take the steps shown here.
  4. Does the wifi or internet have a strong password? If not, then make sure it is updated.
  5. Has anyone shared their password with anyone else? If yes, then these passwords need to be changed.
  6. When was the last time you checked for updates or restarted your computer? For Mac, check here, and for Windows, check here.
  7. When was the last time you cleared your browser's cache and cookies? If you don't know how follow the steps here.
