Users can enter several different dates when purchasing a lot. You can choose which one of these dates is most relevant to display on printed lot labels. Options are:

  • Received date: denotes the date the lot entered your warehouse and determines a lot's age in your inventory. It is set to the date the originating purchase order or transfer was received or the date of the originating repack, depending on the type of lot.
  • Pack date: date an item was packed; it can be entered for each line item on a purchase order or repack.
  • Use by date: date you advise customers to use the product by; it can be entered for each line item on a purchase order or repack.

Use encoded date format on lot labels

Determines how you want to present your chosen lot date to your pickers and your customers.

Once a date is selected, you are given the option to encode the date so that only you and your staff know how to read it. This is helpful if you wish to obscure date information from customers or other warehouse visitors.
