How to Assign Lots on SOs
When placing sales orders, there are a few ways to handle assigning lots to your order items.
1. Unlotted
One option is to not assign lots during order creation and handle assigning the lots to the items later, either via sales transfers, PO generation, or scanning lot labels.

To leave items unlotted by default, make sure the following setting is disabled in Settings > Orders > Sales Orders.

For more information about unlotted sales, see the following article:
2. Automatic assignment
Silo can be configured to automatically assign lots to order items when the order is created.

To auto-assign lots by default, make sure the Automatically Assign Outbound Lots (First in First out) setting is enabled in Settings > Orders > Sales Orders.
Silo will start by assigning the oldest lot based on the lot received date and assign as many lots as needed to satisfy the full ordered quantity. If you want to ensure that no more than one lot is assigned, you can turn on the following setting in Settings > Orders > Sales Orders:

3. Manual assignment
Finally, you can manually assign lots to order items while creating the order.

This will require training your users to manually select the correct lot, either by adding it directly from the inventory search window or selecting it from the lot drawer once the item has been added to the order.
